BitLife Challenges: Full List and How Challenges Work

What are bitlife challenges, and how do they work? The short answer: a challenge is a themed set of four to six tasks — things like being born in a certain country, reaching a certain career, or pulling off something wild — that you must finish inside one life. A brand-new challenge arrives every week for a few days only, and finishing one earns you a prize accessory for your characters. This page explains the whole system in plain words and collects every challenge guide we have published on BitLife Guide in one place.

How BitLife Challenges Work

Where to Find Challenges in the App

Challenges live on the game’s Challenges tab. When a new challenge is coming or currently running, the game shows a ticker announcement so you do not miss it. You need an internet connection while you play a challenge, because the game tracks your progress as you complete each task.

A New Challenge Every Week

Candywriter releases a fresh challenge every Saturday at 3 PM Eastern Time, and announces it on the game’s official social accounts. The live challenge only stays available for a few days — once the window closes, it leaves the free rotation. That short deadline is exactly why players rush to finish each new one over the weekend.

How to Start a Challenge

Starting takes less than a minute:

  1. Open the Challenges tab and tap the current challenge to see its full task list.
  2. Read every task before you play. Note any birth requirement and any deadline like “before age 30”.
  3. Start a new life that matches the birth task — set the country and gender at creation instead of hoping for luck.
  4. Play the life and tick tasks off as they complete. Your progress shows on the Challenges tab as you go.

The Tasks: Four to Six Objectives in One Life

Every challenge has four to six objectives, and five is the most common number. The first task is usually a birth requirement — be born a specific gender in a specific country — which means most challenges start with creating a brand-new life. Later tasks build the theme: reach a job, hit a money target, do something romantic, something criminal, or something gloriously stupid. All tasks must be finished in the same life; if your character dies, the run is over.

The Reward: A Mystery Prize Chest

Finish every task in time and you get to open one of four mystery prize chests. Inside is an accessory — headwear or eyewear — that your characters can wear. You equip winnings from the Accessories option under Activities. The accessory is the trophy: it proves you beat that challenge while it was live.

The Challenge Vault: Playing Old Challenges

Missed a challenge you really wanted? Since October 2022, old challenges are not gone forever.

What the Challenge Vault Is

The Challenge Vault is an official paid add-on — priced at $4.99 — that unlocks the game’s back catalogue of past challenges, more than 100 of them, with no time limit. Buy it once and you can start any vaulted challenge whenever you like and take as long as you need inside a life.

Is the Vault Worth It?

If you only play the free weekly challenge, you do not need it. If you are chasing a full accessory collection, or you want to complete every famous challenge the game has ever run — starting with the Alphabet Challenge, the very first challenge BitLife ever released — the Vault is the only way back to them.

Tips for Finishing Any Challenge

Start a Fresh Life and Read Every Task First

Most failed runs die early because a player missed one line of the task list. Read all the objectives before you age up once, and plan the order — some tasks must happen before a birthday, others need money saved first.

Use Custom Life for Birth Requirements

If the challenge demands a specific country or gender, set it at creation instead of re-rolling random lives. It saves real time, especially when the clock on a live challenge is ticking.

Do Not Panic When a Run Dies

Runs fail — characters get sick, go to prison, or die at the worst moment. Restart with what you learned. With the weekly window plus the Vault, no challenge is ever truly out of reach.
