BitLife Ribbons: Complete List and How to Get Every Ribbon

Quick Answer

There are 40 bitlife ribbons in total. A ribbon is the award your character receives when they die, shown on their gravestone — it sums up how that life was lived. A rich life earns a money ribbon, a criminal life earns a crime ribbon, and four of the 40 are secret ribbons that stay hidden as question marks until you earn them. Below is the full list, grouped by the kind of life each one rewards, with a short guide to earning every single one.

How BitLife Ribbons Work

Ribbons sound simple, but a few rules explain most of the confusion players have with them.

One Life, One Ribbon

Each life earns exactly one ribbon, decided at death by the strongest pattern in how that life was lived. You cannot collect two ribbons from one character — to earn a new one, you start a new life and live it a different way. That is why a full collection takes many lives.

Where You See Your Ribbons

Your ribbon appears on your character’s gravestone when they die. The Ribbons tab in the main menu keeps your whole collection: ribbons you have not earned yet show in grey, and the four secret ribbons show as question marks until the day you earn them.

BitLife Ribbons List: All 40 Ribbons and How to Get Them

Ribbons for Good and Happy Lives

  • Academic — Complete a postgraduate education. Study hard every year, keep smarts high, finish graduate school, and take a job that needs it.
  • Family Guy — As a male character: marry once, have at least two children, spend time with them for decades, and never go to prison.
  • Famous — Become famous through a fame career such as actor, singer, athlete, or model, and keep climbing until you are a star.
  • Fertile — Have a big family: your children count double, plus your grandchildren, must pass 15 in total. Eight children on their own is enough.
  • Generous — Give gifts to family and friends again and again — at least 30 gifted items over the life.
  • Geriatric — Live to age 120 or older. Guard your health and happiness for a whole century.
  • Globetrotter — Travel widely: vacation, honeymoon, or emigrate in at least 20 different countries.
  • Hero — Save someone’s life in a random event, such as intervening in an emergency or doing the Heimlich maneuver — or die trying.
  • Influencer — Build a huge social media following — around a million followers — and get verified by posting often.
  • Movie Buff — Watch at least 20 movies at the movie theater over your life.
  • Successful — Live a balanced, honest life: a good job with promotions, at least $250,000 in net worth, live past 65, and no prison or addictions.
  • Veteran — Serve a full military career: complete your deployments, climb to a top rank, and retire around age 62.

Ribbons for Money Lives

Money ribbons are about how your life ends financially — if building wealth is your favourite game plan, our guide on how to earn money in BitLife will help you reach these numbers faster.

  • Rich — Die with a net worth of at least $2.5 million, but below $20 million.
  • Loaded — Die insanely wealthy, with a net worth over $20 million.
  • Highroller — Win at least $1 million from gambling over your lifetime at the casino or the racetrack.
  • Monopoly — Flip houses: buy and sell at least 10 homes and make around $2 million of profit from real estate.
  • Gold Digger — Never hold a job. Marry someone rich and come away with at least $1.5 million — and never sign a prenup.

Ribbons for Crime and Prison Lives

Crime ribbons are easy to mix up, so plan which one you want before the crimes start. If a run goes wrong and you land inside, our guide on how to escape prison in BitLife covers the escape maze in detail.

  • Cunning — Get sent to prison, escape through the maze puzzle, then get gender reassignment surgery and start a new identity.
  • Deadly — Be responsible for the deaths of at least five people during your life.
  • Houdini — Escape from prison at least 10 times in one life.
  • Jailbird — Serve two or more separate prison sentences in one life.
  • Scandalous — Spend at least 5 years in prison. Serve your time — do not escape.
  • Thief — Steal at least 10 times, including at least one pickpocketing, one stolen car, and one burglary.

Ribbons for Wild and Weird Lives

  • Addict — Die while holding at least two addictions — and never go to rehab to cure them.
  • Barbie Girl — As a female character, go through many plastic surgeries. A botched surgery can ruin the run.
  • Cat Lady — As a female character, own at least 30 cats across your life, and keep other kinds of pets rare.
  • Lustful — Have at least 20 hookups or partners. Stay safe and cure any diseases, or the Wicked ribbon may take over.
  • Rowdy — Live wildly: go clubbing at least 10 times, argue back, throw house parties, and never turn down a crazy night.
  • Tarzan — As a male character, own at least 20 exotic pets. You need Bitizenship to use the exotic pet dealer.
  • Wicked — Be cruel at least five times — for example, spreading diseases to partners or abandoning children and pets.

Ribbons for Plain and Unlucky Lives

  • Lazy — Never work a day in your life. Just age up to at least 50 with no job — but keep smarts above 10%, or you will get Stupid instead.
  • Mediocre — Live a completely ordinary life: a modest job, no big highs, no big lows, nothing remarkable.
  • Mooch — Ask people for money at least 10 times — and never give money to anyone, ever.
  • Stupid — Keep smarts below 10%: drop out of school, never study, and never get a job.
  • Unlucky — Die young — under 30 — from a disease or a sudden unfortunate event. This one is mostly luck.
  • Wasteful — The easiest ribbon in the game: open Activities and tap Surrender to end the life early.

Secret Ribbons

These four hide as question marks in the Ribbons tab until you earn them.

  • Bandit — Successfully rob a train and get away with it. Our how to rob a train in BitLife guide explains the exact real-world times — and why you must never change your device clock to cheat them.
  • Big Boss — Finish on top of the business world: a business-related degree, business school, a corporate career climbed all the way to CEO, and a net worth over $20 million.
  • Model Bitizen — Live a flawless good life: compliments, gifts, and family time at least 10 times each, strong karma, and not one bad action in the whole life. One mistake can end the run.
  • Teammate — Be born in Tucson or Miami, study Computer Science or Information Systems, and get a job as an app developer or app tester for Candywriter — the team that makes BitLife.

Why You Got a Different Ribbon Than You Wanted

This is the most common frustration with ribbons: you aimed for one and got another. It happens because ribbons overlap. A life that earns $3 million on the way to a “Successful” run ends as Rich instead. Escape prison ten times chasing Cunning and you may land on Houdini. Keep the target pure: if your life strongly matches two ribbons, the game picks the one it judges strongest. The fix is simple — remove the competing behaviour and run the life again.

Tips for Collecting All 40 Ribbons

  • One life, one target. Decide the ribbon before you start the life, and live only for that goal.
  • Start with the easy ones. Wasteful, Lazy, Mediocre, and Movie Buff teach you how the system feels in just a few lives.
  • Keep notes. Write down what each life did — a few lives in, patterns become obvious.
  • Save the hardest for last. Model Bitizen, Veteran, Addict, and Houdini are rated the toughest for a reason. Collect the simple ribbons first and learn the game on the way.
