BitLife characters shown at different life stages in the official app, updated regularly with new features

Is There a BitLife 2? The Honest Answer

Searches for bitlife 2 are everywhere, and the honest answer is short: there is no official BitLife 2. Candywriter, the developer of BitLife, has never announced or released a sequel called BitLife 2, and no such app exists on Google Play or the App Store. What you will find online under that name are unofficial clone sites and copycat pages pretending to be a sequel. In this guide, we explain what those sites really are, what Candywriter actually made instead of a sequel, and where genuine news would appear if a sequel ever arrived.

One life, birth to death — the original BitLife is still the only official game of its kind, and no numbered sequel has replaced it.

The Short Answer: No Official BitLife 2 Exists

BitLife launched on September 29, 2018 for iOS and February 5, 2019 for Android, and it has grown through dozens of updates ever since. That is the key point: instead of making a sequel, Candywriter has kept adding to the same game — new careers, new features, new challenges, and new expansion packs. A sequel would mean a new, separate game that replaces the original. That has not happened.

How you can check this yourself

Open Google Play or the App Store and search for “BitLife 2.” You will not find an app by Candywriter, LLC with that name. The official BitLife listing is still “BitLife – Life Simulator” by Candywriter, LLC. If a sequel existed, it would be right there, published by the same developer, with its own store page. It is not.

What Are the “BitLife 2” Websites Then?

If there is no sequel, why do so many pages claim there is one? Because the name gets searches, and some sites use it to attract clicks.

Unofficial clone sites

Several websites call themselves “BitLife 2” and offer a browser game or a download. These are not made by Candywriter, they are not the official game, and they do not have the full careers, challenges, and updates of real BitLife. They are look-alike games borrowing a famous name — the same pattern we warn about in our guide to BitLife on PC, where unofficial “PC version” pages promise something the developer never released.

Why the fake pages look convincing

Clone pages copy the real game’s description, list impressive-sounding features, and sometimes even name Candywriter as the developer. None of that makes them official. The only test that matters is the store listing: is the app published by Candywriter, LLC on Google Play or the App Store? For every “BitLife 2” page we checked, the answer is no.

The risk of downloading from them

A file from an unofficial site can be an old version, a different game entirely, or bundled with unwanted software. It is also not connected to the official stores, so purchases will not restore and saved lives can vanish. The safe rule is the same one we give for every platform question: if Candywriter did not publish it, do not install it.

What Candywriter Actually Made Instead of a Sequel

Candywriter did not stand still — it just built sideways instead of numbering a sequel. Here is what actually exists.

BitLife GO!: the faster spin-off

BitLife GO! is a real, separate app: a shorter, quicker take on the life simulator, published by Goodgame Studios. It is not BitLife 2 — it is a lighter spin-off for short sessions, and your saves do not carry between the two games. We compare the two properly in our guide to BitLife vs BitLife GO!.

BitLife BR and BitLife Español: language editions

On Android, there are also separate official editions in Brazilian Portuguese (BitLife BR) and Spanish (BitLife Español), both published by Goodgame Studios. These are language versions of the same life-simulator idea, not sequels — and on iPhone, the main Candywriter app itself lists Spanish and Portuguese support. Our explainer on BitLife BR and BitLife Español covers exactly how they differ.

DogLife and CatLife: new games, same idea

Candywriter’s team has also made life simulators where you play as an animal instead of a person — DogLife, announced on BitLife’s third anniversary in 2021, and later CatLife. These are their own games with their own store pages. They are proof that when Candywriter makes something new, it gives it a new name and a real store listing — which is exactly what has never happened for “BitLife 2.”

Updates to the original game

Most importantly, the original BitLife keeps growing. Major updates arrive every few weeks to a month, adding features, careers, and packs, and a new weekly challenge appears almost every week. Our living guide to BitLife updates explains how that cycle works and where official news is posted.

Where Real Sequel News Would Appear

If Candywriter ever did announce a sequel, you would hear about it in three places first — and nowhere else matters:

  • The official store listings. A real sequel would get its own Google Play and App Store page from Candywriter, LLC.
  • The official BitLife social accounts. The game is known as BitLifeApp on social media, and big announcements go there first.
  • The in-game news screens. The app itself announces major news to its own players.

Until all three agree, treat any “BitLife 2” claim as unconfirmed. Random blogs, YouTube thumbnails, and clone sites are not announcements, no matter how confident they sound.

What to Play While You Wait

You do not need a sequel to get something new from this game. Try a weekly challenge — our BitLife challenges hub explains how they work — or start a career you have never tried, like the ones in our guides on the BitLife Guide homepage. And if a friend sends you a “BitLife 2” link, you now know the test: check the store, check the publisher, and close the tab if it fails either one.
